After fixing up Mars the Greens decided to create an empire for themselves to give them the resources to fight back against the Black Martians eventual attack. They wound up terraforming and colonizing dozens of planets in stars systems surrounding the solar system, enabling the Greens to have a wide array of planets as bases for their starship fleets.
